Culverts

A culvert is the pipe under a driveway or through a ditch so water can keep moving instead of washing out the stone or flooding the yard. On rural Chesterton, Westville, and county-road lots that is often the whole job: set the pipe, insure proper slope, pack the ends, and rebuild the drive over it.

I look at the ditch, the driveway width, and how hard the water comes after rain. Then I size and set the culvert. If the drive above it needs new gravel after, we do that in the same trip when we can.
